  About Us

Patricia A. Smith, founder and president of Management Strategies is a trained professional with more than 25 years of management experience in the nonprofit sector. 

Ms. Smith brings the combined perspective of chief executive officer and volunteer board member having served as an executive director of a large multipurpose agency, as a United Way planner and a project director of a teen volunteer/ older adult friendly visiting program.  She has extensive voluntary board service with both local and state organizations ranging from workforce development to child care to library services.

She has served as interim executive director of five different nonprofits. In that capacity she helped board and staff members address important systems and capacity issues, coordinated the executive search process and helped to lay the groundwork for the future organization success. She has been dubbed the "go to person" for interim agency management.

Trained in strategic planning, Ms. Smith holds a Masters Degree in Community Service Administration from Alfred University.  She is an adjunct instructor at Jamestown Community College and has taught a wide range of management workshops and courses in human services.

She has worked extensively with early childhood organizations including Success By 6 and Head Start. Her clients include public and private agencies, foundations, higher education institutions and corporations.
